Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
The local community of Callanafersy, Milltown can look forward to a more secure and reliable water supply following the completion of works to replace 1.9 kilometres of aged watermains that were prone to bursts as part of Uisce Éireann’s national Leakage Reduction Programme.
Marking the end of this project, Programme Manager at Uisce Éireann, Jack Cronin commented on the benefits: “The importance of these works cannot be understated and form part of a significant investment by Uisce Éireann to upgrade infrastructure and provide an improved water supply to enable local communities to thrive for years to come. The replacement of these old pipes will significantly lower the instances of bursts, outages and leakage on the network ensuring a stronger and more resilient supply for the area. We would like to thank the local community for their cooperation and patience as we carried out these essential works.”
Following the completion of the works, it is necessary to reinstate the permanent road surface, and these works will be programmed and carried out in due course by Uisce Éireann in partnership with Kerry County Council.
The works were carried out by Ward and Burke on behalf of Uisce Éireann.
