Growth and Development Programme - Crodaun Wastewater Network Upgrade
We wish to advise that due to Storm Bram, our information evening about planned project works on the Crodaun Wastewater Network Upgrade has been postponed until Tuesday, 16 December.
Uisce Éireann is installing new wastewater infrastructure in Celbridge to support future growth and development in the area.
The works involve the installation of over 2.1km of sewer pipeline to cater for the future growth and development of the wider Celbridge area. These works are being carried out as part of Uisce Éireann’s Growth and Development Programme and are expected to commence in January 2026.
The section of works will take place between the existing Castletown Wastewater Pumping Station and Crodaun, via Castletown Estate, Castletown Drive and the R405 Maynooth Road.
This project is being delivered to support existing and future developments within the community. It will improve the capacity of the existing wastewater network in the area, improving performance and reducing demands on the current network.
The works will be carried out on behalf of Uisce Éireann by Coffey and are expected to be completed in early 2027.
Crodaun Wastewater Network Upgrade
What are the benefits of this project?
The benefits of these wastewater network works include:
- Supporting social and economic development – This project will facilitate social and economic growth, including planned residential development.
- Improving the wastewater network – This project will upgrade the wastewater network, increasing the capacity to deliver reliable, sustainable high-quality wastewater services for the community.
- Reducing the risk of sewer overflow – This project will improve the capacity of the existing sewers, improving performance and reducing the risk of sewer flooding in the area.
Will customers be affected by these works?
Works will require phased lane and road closures to safely and efficiently facilitate pipelaying works. We are liaising with Kildare County Council to agree traffic management at each stage of works. We will inform impacted stakeholders in writing of planned traffic management in advance. This project webpage will also be updated regularly throughout the project.
We understand that this type of work can be inconvenient and works crews will make every effort to minimise any disruption these necessary works cause.
