Works underway to restore water supply to customers in Ballinard and surrounding areas in Co. Tipperary

Uisce Éireann is working to restore water following a planned outage earlier today.  The outage was part of scheduled water main upgrade works in Ballinard.  While the works were successfully completed, unforeseen issues have delayed the full restoration of service.

Customers in Ballinard, Killenaule, Moyglass, /Gortnahoe, Boolbawn, Laffinsbridge, Ballinury, Ballisoe, Ballynonty, Drangan, Dualla and surrounding areas may be experiencing some disruptions to their supply.

Uisce Éireann’s Ciaran Phelan has assured customers that every effort is being made to restore water supply fully as quickly as possible. “We understand the inconvenience and we thank customers for their support while works continue.”

Repairs are expected to be completed by 10pm this evening, 24 July. Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to be restored to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the network recharges.

To ensure the safety of the crews carrying out the repairs to the burst and the safety of the public, traffic management will be in place and will be clearly signposted.
