Works supply returning to customers along the Galtee Public Water Supply
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Water supply is returning to normal for customers along the Galtee Public Water Supply, including areas such as, Cordangan, Ardlomen, Shronel, Mount Bruis, Lattin, Cullen, Emly, Kilross, Ballywire, Glenbane, Khleenagallive and surrounding areas in Co Tipperary, following repairs to a burst water main yesterday.
As the network refills and supplies return throughout the day, customers in areas at the end of the network, such as Khleenagaville, may experience intermittent disruption or low water pressure for the remainder of the day. Customers may also experience short-term discolouration to their supply. For more information, customers can visit the Discoloured water section of our website.
Alternative water supplies will be available for the remainder of the day, in the form of bulk tankers, which can be accessed in Emly Village, near the GAA grounds.
Uisce Éireann’s Operations Manager, Pierce Faherty said “We apologise for any inconvenience caused and would like to thank the community for their patience and understanding while crews worked to restore supply to impacted areas.”

Previous Updates
Uisce Éireann crews are working to repair a burst water main along the Galtee Public Water Supply and restore water to customers affected in the surrounding areas, including Cordangan, Ardlomen, Shronel, Mount Bruis, Lattin, Cullen, Emly, Kilross, Ballywire, Glenbane, Khleenagallive and surrounding areas in Co Tipperary, and Co Limerick.
Repairs are underway and water supply is expected to return to customers by 12pm tomorrow afternoon, 07 September. Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to be restored to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the network recharges.
Alternative water supplies will become available at 6pm this evening, Saturday, 06 September, in the form of bulk tankers, which can be accessed in Emly Village, near the GAA grounds.
Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from tankers and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure.
Uisce Éireann’s Water Network Operations Manager, Pierce Faherty has assured customers that every effort is being made to restore water supply fully as quickly as possible. “We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage and we thank customers for their support while repair works continue.”
