Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Uisce Éireann crews are continuing to work to restore supply to customers affected by an outage in Lettermacaward and surrounding areas this morning.
It is now expected that supply will be restored to Lettermacaward village by 8pm this evening (Wednesday).
It may take longer for supply to return to surrounding villages and in some cases it may be Thursday morning before normal pressure levels have fully returned.
Alternative Water Supplies have been made available for affected customers at the following locations:
• Chapel car park, Lettermacaward
• Narin Beach
The outage was caused by a mechanical issue at the Lettermacaward WTP which is currently being addressed by Uisce Éireann crews.
Damien O’Sullivan of Uisce Éireann thanked affected customers for their patience as repairs progress.
“We understand the impact of an unplanned outage and we again assure customers that every effort is being made to restore normal supply as soon as possible,” said Damien.

Previous Updates
Uisce Éireann crews are responding to an issue at the Lettermacaward Water Treatment Plant this morning, which will result in supply outages for customers in Lettermacaward and the surrounding areas.
As a result of mechanical issues at the plant, reservoir levels have fallen and this is impacting supply to homes and businesses in the area.
Uisce Éireann is arranging for Alternative Water Supplies to be made available locally for affected customers and further information on the location of these will be communicated shortly.
Damien O’Sullivan of Uisce Éireann said work is ongoing to resolve the issue and restore normal supply as quickly as possible.
“We acknowledge the impact of unplanned outages such as this and we assure customers affected by this outage that we are doing all we can to bring supply back to normal levels as quickly as possible,” said Damien.
