Water supply returning to normal in Monivea Road area
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Water supply is returning to normal levels in the Monivea Road area of Galway city this afternoon after a burst water main caused some disruption to supply this morning.
Uisce Éireann crews were able to find and successfully repair the burst on the main, which impacted supply to approximately 200 customers in the Monivea Road, Tara Grove and Wellpark areas.
The repairs were completed at approximately 2.30pm and supply levels in the area are currently returning to normal.
Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to some customers as the system recharges.
Leo O’Shea of Uisce Éireann thanked affected customers for their cooperation while repairs were underway.
“Uisce Éireann acknowledges the inconvenience caused by unplanned outages and thanks customers for their patience and cooperation while these works were carried out,” Leo said.
