Water supply returning to normal levels following Spiddal burst

Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage.

Water is returning to customers in the Spiddal area following a burst water main this evening. 

Uisce Éireann operational crews have successfully carried out repair works and the network is now recharging. 

Customers in parts of Spiddal Village, Bohoona, Inverin, Cor Na Ron, Baile na hAbhann and Rossaveel experienced a disruption to their supply as a result of the burst.

However, water supply levels in the area are currently returning to normal. 

Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. 

Uisce Éireann’s Ciaran Conneely thanked affected customers for their cooperation while repairs were underway.  

“Uisce Éireann acknowledges the inconvenience caused by unplanned outages and thanks customers for their patience and cooperation while these works were carried out.”

Uisce Éireann crews are working to repair a burst water main in Spiddal. 

The burst is affecting water supply to Uisce Éireann customers in parts of Spiddal Village, Bohoona, Inverin, Cor Na Ron, Baile na hAbhann and Rossaveel. 

Crews are on site, and it is estimated that repairs will be complete later tonight. 

Uisce Éireann’s Ciaran Conneely has assured affected customers that supply will be restored as quickly as possible.
“We acknowledge the inconvenience caused by unplanned outages and we thank affected customers for their understanding while our crews work to repair the burst and restore normal supply to their homes and businesses,” said Ciaran.

Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.
