Water supply returning to normal for customers supplied by Goatenbridge Water Treatment Plant
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Uisce Éireann crews have completed repair works to a watermain at Goatenbridge Water Treatment Plant following a significant burst and would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Water is now returning to impacted customers. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.
Alternative water supplies remain in place at Ardfinnan Church, Marlfield Village, Newcastle National School, Grange National School, Newchapel Cross, Castle Carpark Cahir, Moloneys Bar Poulmucka and Clerihan National School . We will monitor the requirement of these alternative water supplies and retain those where issues supply persist.
Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from tankers and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure.
Uisce Éireann continues to appeal to customers on the Ardfinnan Regional Water Supply to be mindful of their water usage and to make all efforts to conserve water where possible.
Uisce Éireann’s John Fogarty said: “We acknowledge the impact of unplanned interruptions to the water supply on homes and businesses and apologise for any inconvenience caused. We would like to thank the community for their patience and understanding while crews worked repair the burst and restore water to impacted customers.”
