Water supply returning to customers in Malahide and Portmarnock areas
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Uisce Éireann crews have repaired a burst water main that was affecting supply to customers in the Malahide and Portmarnock areas of north County Dublin.
The burst occurred in the early hours of this morning and Uisce Éireann crews worked throughout the morning to carry out repairs.
Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to be restored to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges. All areas should have their water restored by this evening.
Tselopile Tlou, Uisce Éireann Water Network Operations Manager, thanked affected customers for their cooperation: “Uisce Éireann acknowledges the disruption that can be caused by an unplanned outage and we wish to thank customers in the area for their patience as the reservoir continues to replenish to normal levels.”
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
