Water Supply returning for customers in Abbeyfeale as overnight restriction lifted
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Water supply is returning to customers in Abbeyfeale, Mountcollins, Dromtrasna, Kilconlea, Knockbrack, Caher and surrounding areas in Co Limerick. However, a small number of customers may still be experiencing interruptions to their supply.
Reservoir levels have been recovering today, and over the last number of days Uisce Éireann have deployed water tankers to further replenish supply.
For those customers still experiencing interruptions to their water supply, alternative water supplies are available, which can be accessed at Mountcollins National School, V94K036.
When taking water from the tanker, customers are reminded to boil the water prior to use as a precaution per HSE advice.
Uisce Éireann’s Water Operations Manager, Eoin O’Connell thanks customers for their patience saying ‘I would like to extend my thanks to customers over the last number of days for their patience and the part they played in conserving their water usage. We are continuing to make every effort to return normal restore water supply to all customers, as quickly as possible.”

Previous Updates
Due to operational issues at Abbeyfeale Water Treatment Plant, overnight supply restrictions are required to conserve water and maintain a daytime supply. Overnight restrictions will be in place each night from 11pm tonight, until 7am until Friday, 31 October.
Due to low reservoir levels, some customers may currently be experiencing loss of water supply or low water pressure in Mountcollins, Kilconlea, Knockbrack, Abbeyfeale, Caher, Dromtrasna and surrounding areas.
Eoin O’Connell, Operations Manager reassures customers saying, “Every effort is being made to restore a normal supply to customers as soon as possible. In the meantime, we are asking customers to be mindful of their water usage during this time, as we need to maintain a daytime water supply for homes and businesses.”
