Water supply has returned for customers in Kildare town and surrounding areas following an unplanned outage on the Newbridge trunk main yesterday evening.
Customers in the following areas were affected: Brownstown, Ballysax, Cutbush, Kildare Town, Meadow Road, Station Road, French Furze, Newbridge and surrounding areas.
An Uisce Eireann crew completed the repair work by 11pm last night.
As the network fills and supplies return throughout the day, customers at the end of the network may experience intermittent disruption or low water pressure for a number of hours. Customers may also experience short-term discolouration to their supply.
Uisce Éireann’s Water Network Operations Manager, Eoghan Forristal said, “We would like to thank residents and businesses for their patience and understanding while crews worked to restore supply. Some customers may have discoloured water, and we would ask these customers to run their taps for up to 20 minutes until the water runs clear.”
Uisce Éireann is committed to keeping customers informed across multiple platforms 24/7 and we encourage customers to engage with us through our website, X channels @IWCare and @IrishWater, and through our customer care helpline which is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278.
