Water production has resumed at the Ardfinnan Water Treatment Plant
Water supply disruption for Jamestown Reservoir customers
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Water production has resumed at the Ardfinnan Water Treatment Plant, and customers impacted by water outages earlier today should have their supplies restored.
However, due to ongoing operational difficulties, the plant is currently operating at reduced flows. As a result, water levels at the Jamestown Reservoir have decreased significantly and are expected to drop further.
Customers in the following areas are expected to lose their supplies overnight:
- Clerihan
- Poulmucka
- Knockeevan
- Derrygrath
- Marifield
- Mocklerstown
- Ballyhimkin
- Surrounding areas
Uisce Éireann crews are working to restore water to all impacted customers. It is estimated that the restoration will be completed by 9 am on Tuesday.
Alternative Water Supplies will be provided for affected customers from 9am tomorrow, Monday, at the following locations:
Marifield village
Clerihan village (church)
Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from the tanker and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure.
Customers impacted by water outages earlier today should expect their supply to return soon. However, the supply to all customers on Ardfinnan Water Supply Scheme is at risk of further outages until normal operating flows are restored at the Water Treatment Plant.
Uisce Éireann’s Pierce Faherty said: “We understand the inconvenience this disruption is causing, and our teams are working to restore the water supply as quickly as possible. Once normal operations are restored, it will take several hours for the network to fully refill and normal supply to return to all customers.”
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
