Uisce Éireann is working to restore water supply in Ballinagarry, Co. Limerick
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Uisce Éireann is working to address supply interruptions and restore normal operations at Ballinagarry Water Treatment Plant as quickly as possible. The treatment plant, which supplies drinking water to the communities of Rylands, Ballingarry and surrounding areas in Co. Limerick, has been impacted by poor raw water quality due to the high turbidity of the incoming water.
For this reason, production at the treatment plant has shut down. This has resulted in low reservoirs levels meaning customers may be impacted by an interruption to their water supply.
Alternative water supplies will become available at 8pm this evening, Friday, 23 May, in the form of bulk tankers, which can be accessed adjacent to Ballinagarry Community Centre.
Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from tankers and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure.
Eoin O’Connell, water operations manager, said, “We understand how disruptive unplanned outages are and we sincerely regret any inconvenience caused. We also want to thank impacted customers for their patience as we work to restore normal supplies.”
