Uisce Éireann prioritising response to water issues in Ballyhooly, County Cork

Uisce Éireann has established a working group dedicated to addressing the ongoing water supply issues in Ballyhooly, County Cork. Uisce Éireann acknowledges and regrets any impact to the local community and assures the public that it is continuing to prioritise investigatory and remedial works in the area. Michael Bell, Water Network Operations Manager, Uisce Éireann said: “We do understand the frustration felt by the community and we want to assure residents and the business community that we are working to address the water supply challenges in the area.” 

To tackle the water issues in Ballyhooly, a working group has been established and a complete network review is underway. As part of this, investigatory and optimisation works have been ongoing in recent weeks with find and fix and operational teams on the ground. Uisce Eireann crews are actively locating and repairing leaks in Ballyhooly. To support the local community, the alternative water supply will remain in place at Ballyhooly GAA pitch. Customers are reminded to bring their own containers when taking water from the tanker and to boil the water before consumption as a precautionary measure, as per HSE advice.
