Supply returning to Uisce Éireann customers in Inishowen area
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Water supply is returning to Uisce Éireann customers in the Inishowen area of Donegal. This follows the completion of essential works following an operational issue at Illies Water Treatment Plant yesterday.
The network continues to recharge, and it’s expected that the majority of customers who experienced a disruption will have supply restored by 8pm this evening.
The outage impacted water supply to customers in Upper and Lower Redcastle, Quigleys Point to Muff, Ture, Clar, Moville Lower, Moville to Greencastle Road, Cruckglass, Ballywalter, Meenavenaghan and surrounding areas.
It can take 2-3 hours for the normal water supply to return as water refills the network. Customers are being asked to be mindful of their water usage to allow supply to catch up with demand.
Uisce Éireann’s Stephen McGlynn said: “We understand the inconvenience when an unplanned outage occurs, and our crews worked as quickly as possible to ensure full production was restored to the plant. We thank customers for their understanding.”
