Planned overnight outage for customers in Enfield
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Uisce Éireann wishes to advise of a planned overnight water outage to facilitate essential maintenance works at Enfield Water Treatment Plant.
Customers in Enfield and surrounding areas may be impacted by supply disruptions, reduced water pressure or discolouration from 10pm tonight, Tuesday 28 October to 6am on Wednesday, 29 October.
Uisce Éireann’s Michael Cunniffe has assured affected customers that crews will complete the works as quickly as possible to restore normal water supply. “We acknowledge the inconvenience caused by a planned outage and we thank customers in advance for their patience while we carry out these essential works at the treatment plant.”
Typically, it takes two to three hours following an outage for normal supply to restore to all customers. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers on higher ground or at the end of the network.
When water supply returns some customers may notice discoloured water. In the event of discolouration, running the cold kitchen tap for several minutes - we recommend up to 20 minutes - will usually restore the water to a clear colour. Updates on this work can be found on the Uisce Éireann Supply and Service map.
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
Uisce Éireann’s customer care team is available 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and customers can also contact us on X @IWCare with any queries. For further updates, visit the service and supply section of www.water.ie
