Uisce Éireann is advising customers in Galway City of a planned outage which will take place tonight (Thursday, 30 October) in the Letteragh Road area to the west of the city.

The planned outage is necessary to allow essential repairs to a burst water main in the area. Repairs will begin at 9pm and are due to be complete by 12am on Friday morning (midnight), an estimated outage period of three hours.

The outage will impact on water supply to approximately 200 customers on the Letteragh Road, Breacán, The Heath, The Bailey and Cúirt Chéirín.

Leo O’Shea of Uisce Éireann said this outage is necessary to facilitate the repair of a burst water main.

These are essential repairs to prevent this burst main from causing further disruption to customers moving forward,” said Leo.

We acknowledge the impact that planned outages can have on customers, and we wish to thank customers affected by tonight’s planned outage for their understanding.”

Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network.

Uisce Éireann is committed to keeping customers informed across multiple platforms 24/7 and we encourage customers to engage with us through our website, X channels @IWCare and @IrishWater, and through our customer care helpline which is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278.
