Planned outage for customers in parts of North Drogheda
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Uisce Éireann wishes to advise of a planned water outage which may impact customers parts of Yellowbatter and Moneymore in North Drogheda. The outage is necessary to facilitate essential works in the area as part of our Leakage Reduction Programme.
The works will take place from 10am to 4pm on Thursday, 30 October, and may result in supply disruptions for customers in Patrick Street, Glenmore Drive, Nuns Walk, Bredin Street, Stoney Lane, Prospect Avenue, Thomas Street, Newfoundwell Road, Sandyford Terrace, Oulster’s Lane, Francis Street, King’s Street, Magdalene Street and surrounding areas in Yellowbatter and Moneymore.
Uisce Éireann’s Declan Healy said, “We understand the inconvenience caused by an interruption to supply. Every effort will be made to limit the impact of these essential works, and we would like to thank the community in advance for their patience and co-operation.”
Typically, it takes two to three hours following an outage for normal supply to restore to all customers. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers on higher ground or at the end of the network.
When water supply returns some customers may notice discoloured water. In the event of discolouration, running the cold kitchen tap for several minutes - we recommend up to 20 minutes - will usually restore the water to a clear colour.
Updates on this work can be found on the Uisce Éireann Supply and Service map by entering the following reference number in the search bar on water.ie: LOU00101073.
