Planned outage for customers in parts of Athlone to facilitate essential works

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section

Uisce Éireann is carrying out essential works to the water network in Athlone. To facilitate these works, a water outage is necessary.

The works will take place between 9am and 5pm on Monday, 18th August and Tuesday, 19th August and may result in supply disruptions for Uisce Éireann customers on Cartrontroy Road, Killyon Hill and Retreat Heights.

Uisce Éireann’s Donal O’Connor has assured affected customers that crews will complete the works as quickly as possible to restore normal water supply. “We acknowledge the inconvenience caused by a planned outage and thank customers in advance for their patience while we carry out these essential works.”

Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers on higher ground or at the end of the network.  Updates on this work can be found on the Uisce Éireann Supply and Service map by entering the following reference number in the search bar on water.ie: WME00097371.
