Overnight water outage in Bettystown and Laytown to facilitate works

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section

Uisce Éireann is advising customers in Bettystown, Laytown and surrounding areas of a planned interruption to water supply from 8pm this evening, Tuesday, 07 October, until 8am tomorrow morning, Wednesday, 08 October.

The planned outage is to facilitate essential works to the water network and will be carried out at night to minimise the disruption to the public.

Uisce Éireann’s Enda Cully thanked affected customers for their co-operation ahead of the works.

“We wish to acknowledge the inconvenience caused by a planned outage and assure affected customers that crews will complete the works as quickly as possible to restore normal water supply by Wednesday morning,” said Enda.

Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers on higher ground or at the end of the network.

Customers may experience low water pressure, or temporary discolouration when supply is returning.

Uisce Éireann regrets any inconvenience caused.

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.

Our customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and customers can also contact us on X @IWCare with any queries.  For updates please see the water supply and services section of our website.
