Essential overnight restrictions in place in Midleton to ensure daytime supply
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Due to drought-related operational issues on the Midleton Water Supply Scheme, overnight supply restrictions are required to conserve water and maintain a daytime supply. Starting tonight, Monday, 25 August, overnight restrictions will be in place over the course of this week from 10pm until 7am each night until Monday morning, 01 September.
During these times, customers in the Midelton areas may experience interruptions to supply, or reduced water pressure.
Uisce Éireann’s Water Operations Manager, Niall O’Riordan says: “We understand the inconvenience nighttime restrictions can cause to communities; however, given the increased demand they are essential to maintain a daytime water supply for homes and businesses while we allow reservoir levels time to recover.”
A Water Conservation Order remains in place in Cork County (excluding Cork city) until Tuesday, 16 September 2025.
