Water supply returning to Uisce Éireann customers in Burncourt
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Water supply is returning to Uisce Éireann customers supplied by the Burncourt Water Supply Scheme following low reservoir levels which impacted water supply recently.
The areas affected include Skeheenarinka village, Ballyporeen village, Templetenny, Coolagarranoe, Carrigmore, Cullenagh, Doolis and surrounding areas.
The network continues to recharge, and it’s expected that the majority of customers who experienced a disruption will have supply restored by 8pm this evening.
It can take 2-3 hours for the normal water supply to return as water refills the network, particularly for those properties on high ground or at the end of the network. Homes and businesses are also being asked to be mindful of their water usage to allow supply to catch up with demand.
Pierce Faherty, Water Network Operations Manager, Uisce Éireann said: “Uisce Éireann acknowledges the inconvenience caused by unplanned outages and would like to thank customers for their patience and cooperation while we worked to restore supply to the impacted areas.
“We would also like to ask customers in the area to conserve water in order allow the reservoir levels time to recover.”

Previous Updates
Uisce Éireann advises that customers in the Burncourt area of Tipperary are experiencing a disruption to their supply today due to a low reservoir level.
The areas affected on the Burncourt Water Supply Scheme include Skeheenarinka village, Ballyporeen village, Templetenny, Coolagarranoe, Carrigmore, Cullenagh, Doolis and surrounding areas.
It is estimated that water supply will return to the above areas by 9am tomorrow, Monday, 11 August.
Uisce Éireann understands the inconvenience of an unplanned outage and we thank customers for their support while the reservoir level recovers.
Typically, it takes two to three hours following such an outage for normal supply to restore to all customers affected. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
