Critical water main upgrade works continue in the Ballinard area

Uisce Éireann are making steady progress to upgrade the water network in the Ballinard area, to reduce leakage and provide a more reliable water supply to local homes and businesses. So far over 14km of water main has now been replaced, with a further 3.2km commencing this week.
To facilitate connections of the newly installed water mains there will two planned outages which may impact customers in Ballinard and the surrounding areas.
Customers in Ballinard, Rathkenny, St Johns Town, Lismoynan, Tinnakilly, Outrath, Curraheen, Peppardstown, Coolbawn Grangebarry Knockanglass, Moyglass, Clonbrogan, Arbour Hill, Silverfort, Bishopscourt, Mocklershill, Colraine, Lismortagh, Kilbreedy, Rathmoley, Graystown, Roan, Crosscannon, Graigue Lower and the surrounding area may experience some disruption to their supply on Tuesday, 23 September from 10am to 3pm.
Separately customers in Coolbaun, Cooleagh, Coolmore, Coolanure, Farnaleen, Farranaleen, Kilknockan, Ballybough, Rathmoley, Kilbreedy, Graystown and the surrounding areas will experience a disruption to their supply on Thursday, 25 September from 10am to 3pm.
Uisce Éireann’s Dave Murphy said, “We understand the inconvenience caused by an interruption to supply. Every effort will be made to limit the impact of these essential works, and we would like to thank the community in advance for their patience and co-operation.
“Following the completion of the works, it can take two to three hours for normal water supply to return to customers as water refills the network, particularly for those properties on higher ground or at the end of the network.”
