Crews are working to restore water supply following burst impacting customers in Shannon

Uisce Éireann crews are working to restore water supply to impacted customers following a burst to a water main in Shannon, Co Clare. 

The burst may impact water supply to homes and businesses in Killian Park, Aidan Park, Ard Na Gréine, Finian Park, Cronan Park, Cronan Grove, Cronan Gardens, Tullyvarraga Road, Cronan Lawn, Slí on Sionnagh and surrounding areas. 

Expert water services crews have been dispatched, and repair works are expected to be completed by 12am tonight, 09 December. 

Typically, it takes three to four hours following repairs for normal supply to be restored to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the network recharges.  

Darragh Conneely, Operations Manager for Uisce Éireann has said: “We understand the inconvenience that unplanned outages can have and would like to assure customers that we are doing everything we can to restore the water supply as quickly as possible. Crews have been mobilised, and we expect water to be restored to customers tonight”
