Supply returning to customers in An Spidéal after successful mains repairs

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section

Water supply is returning to customers in An Spidéal and surrounding areas this lunchtime after an outage caused by burst on a main this morning.

Repairs to the burst main were completed at approximately 12 noon and supply is now returning to affected homes and businesses.

Customers in An Spidéal Thiar, Coill Rua Thoir, Baile na hAbhann, Na Doiriú and Ros an Mhíl were affected by water outages as a consequence of this burst, which occurred early this morning.

Uisce Éireann crews responded to the burst from early this morning and repairs have been successfully completed.

Typically, it can take three to four hours for normal supply to be fully restored to all properties after an unplanned outage.

Customers located at the end of the network or on higher ground may experience longer restoration times as the system recharges. Customers may also experience small pockets of air in their supply as the system recharges.

Leo O’Shea of Uisce Éireann thanked impacted residents and business owners for their understanding while repairs to the burst were underway.

“We understand how frustrating unplanned outages can be for our customers, particularly with such warm weather,” said Leo. “Our crews worked as quickly as they could to repair this main and restore supply, and water is now returning for impacted customers.”
