An appeal for continued public support to conserve water in Castlecomer
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Uisce Éireann is asking customers in the Castlecomer area for their continued support in conserving water, as limited overnight restrictions remain necessary to protect daytime supply.
Ongoing water restrictions will remain in place from 9 pm to 9 am until further notice. During these hours, customers in Clogh, Ardra, Massford, Moneenroe, Coolbawn, and Castlecomer may experience reduced pressure, discolouration, or temporary interruptions to supply.
We advise allowing 3–4 hours after the restoration time for supply to fully return.
Shane Aylward of Uisce Éireann thanked the community for their ongoing efforts: “We’re doing everything we can to maintain supply throughout the summer, including tankering to reservoirs, pressure management, leak repairs and night-time restrictions. But we also need your help. If everyone in Castlecomer takes a few simple steps to reduce water use at home, in businesses, and on farms, we can stretch our resources further and help maintain normal supply.”
For those looking to track their progress and learn more about water conservation, Uisce Éireann has developed an easy-to-use conservation calculator, which allows people to track their personal water usage.
