Our crews are responding this morning to a burst water main in Leixlip, behind St Mary’s Church, which may impact supply to customers in Leixlip, Maynooth, Cellbridge and surrounding areas in Co. Kildare.
Uisce Éireann crews have been mobilised to site and expect works to continue until 2pm this afternoon (Sunday 8 November).
Uisce Éireann’s Eoghan Forristal has assured customers that every effort is being made to restore a full water supply as quickly as possible. “We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage and we thank customers for their support while repair works are underway. A traffic management plan has been put in place for the duration of the works and further updates will be available on our website as work progresses,” said Eoghan.
Typically, it takes three to four hours following repairs for normal supply to be restored to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.
Supporting customers, particularly those who may be more vulnerable during service interruptions, remains a priority. Registered vulnerable customers receive direct communications from Uisce Éireann for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours. We are committed to keeping customers informed throughout the repair works.
