Water supply restored following repairs to burst watermain in south Co. Wexford
Uisce Éireann has completed repairs to a burst watermain and normal water supply has been restored to the majority of customers in Ballylannan, Wellingtonbridge, Rosegarland, Carrick-on-Bannow, Duncormick, Ballymitty and surrounding areas in Co. Wexford.
Uisce Éireann crews worked through the evening to repair the burst as quickly and safely as possible. Repairs were successfully completed late last night, allowing the network to begin recharging and supporting the return of normal supply across the affected areas.
Enda Lambert of Uisce Éireann thanked customers for their patience and understanding while repairs were being carried out. “We understand the inconvenience that unplanned outages can cause and would like to thank customers for their patience while our crews carried out these essential repairs. Every effort was made to restore water supply as quickly and safely as possible."
Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to be restored to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.
