Work is underway to restore normal water supply to customers in Cloonfad following a burst water main in the village this Saturday morning.
Crews are on site carrying out repairs and every effort is being made to restore supply as quickly and safely as possible. This is a second burst on that section of water main, following the completion of repairs to the previous burst yesterday.
Ger Greally, Uisce Éireann’s Water Treatment Operations Manager for Co Roscommon, said: "We know this supply disruption is frustrating particularly as it is the second burst in this section of water main in two days. We apologise to customers for the impact it is having this morning. Our immediate priority is to restore water supply to affected homes and businesses as quickly as possible.
”Repairs are expected to be completed this afternoon and water supplies will return gradually over the following hours as the network refills. Customers in higher-lying areas or at the ends of the network may experience a longer wait while the system fully recharges."
Supporting customers, particularly those who may be more vulnerable during service interruptions, remains a priority. Registered vulnerable customers receive direct communications from Uisce Éireann for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours. We are committed to keeping customers informed throughout the repair works.
